Bulgarian chess grandmaster Nurgul Salimova will be a special guest at the ZONTA CUP chess festival in Veliko Tarnovo. Scheduled for 31 October and 1 November 2026, the event is organized by Etar Chess Club and Zonta Club Veliko Tarnovo, according to the official Chess-Results registration pages.

The competition is divided into age groups for children under 8, 10, 12 and 14. Organizers say there is no participation fee and prizes are planned for outstanding competitors.

Applications are accepted until 29 October at the email address specified in the regulations. On-site registration is scheduled for 31 October between noon and 1 p.m. Details of the groups, rules and organizers are available on the event page.

The visit offers young chess players an opportunity to meet one of the most recognizable names in Bulgarian chess. Organizers encourage participants to review registration requirements in advance.
