According to OPEC's official statement, the required September production levels will remain in effect for the final month of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was made by Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman. The seven countries reaffirmed their commitment to the agreed limits and to monitoring developments in the global oil market.<\/p>\n<h2>Why the decision matters<\/h2>\n<p>Keeping production targets steady does not necessarily mean actual oil output or exports will remain at the same level. Some producers are still operating below their quotas because of supply disruptions and shipping restrictions in the Middle East, Reuters reports.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout 2026, the members gradually raised their permitted production levels. In September, they completed the restoration of output previously curbed by an agreement covering 1.65 million barrels per day. A separate set of cuts totaling around 2 million barrels per day remains in effect until the end of the year.<\/p>\n<h2>Next meeting scheduled for 29 November<\/h2>\n<p>The seven countries are due to meet again on 29 November. The wider OPEC+ group must also decide on production arrangements for 2027, taking into account assessments of members' actual capacity, the recovery of supply routes and demand for crude oil.<\/p>\n<p>For consumers and businesses in Europe, the decision is an important signal about supply, but it does not by itself determine future fuel prices.
