In a response published by NOVA on 18 October, BDZ Passenger Services says it does not plan to remove stops made by existing passenger and fast trains. The report discusses the new express trains separately. This distinction matters: the dispute does not establish that existing stops have already been cancelled.

NOVA — BDZ’s response, 18 October

Updated on 9 October 2026: The Transport Ministry announced on 7 October that services through Pavlikeni station would not be cancelled or reduced and would continue as before. Read the confirmed update and the changes to the Ruse–Plovdiv service.

Pavlikeni mayor Emanuil Manolov opposes a proposal for six fast trains not to stop at the local station. RegNews published his position on 6 October following a meeting with representatives of BDZ Passenger Services.

The timetable under discussion covers 13 December 2026 to 11 December 2027. According to the report, a petition with more than 1,600 signatures from Pavlikeni and Suhindol calls for better links to Sofia, Burgas and Varna.

This is an objection to a draft timetable. We are not presenting the proposed changes as a final BDZ decision or a restriction already in force.
