European support helps Bulgaria and Romania assess the situation.

The European Maritime Safety Agency is providing satellite information to Bulgaria and Romania following attacks on merchant ships in the Black Sea. Both countries requested the support, the European Commission said on 7 October, as reported by BTA via NOVA and by bTV.
Bulgaria will not resume the search for the crew of the sunken ALFA WATAN, Reuters and bTV reported, citing the Maritime Administration. The sailors’ fate remains unknown.
The Consultative Council on National Security met at the presidency to discuss maritime security and critical infrastructure. The afternoon reports reviewed contain no published final finding on who carried out the attacks.
Statements by parties to the conflict and political assessments are not the findings of a completed investigation. Satellite support assists the assessment of the situation but does not, by itself, establish responsibility for the attacks.
