A yellow warning for significant rainfall has been issued for Dobrich and Silistra provinces for Tuesday, October 27. It forms part of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology's severe weather forecast, also published by Bulgaria's Ministry of Environment and Water.

According to the forecast reported by bTV, around 30–35 litres per square metre of rain are expected in those two areas, with thunderstorms possible locally. This is a forecast warning, not confirmation of rainfall already measured or damage already caused.

Cooler, cloudier weather across much of Bulgaria

Colder air moving into the country is shaping Tuesday's weather. Many areas will see extensive cloud cover and some rain. Northern Bulgaria, including the Veliko Tarnovo region, is expected to be cooler than during the warm spell late last week.

The yellow warning applies to Dobrich and Silistra, not Veliko Tarnovo. Local residents should not assume that the same warning level applies automatically to all of northern Bulgaria.

Travellers in northeastern Bulgaria should consult the latest meteorological and road updates. The official weather bulletin is revised daily, and warnings can change as conditions develop.
