Tsarevets Fortress in Veliko Tarnovo will be lit green at 20:00 on 9 October in solidarity with children with PANS/PANDAS and their families, RegNews reports.
Veliko Tarnovo Municipality is joining the international initiative following a request from the mother of a six-year-old boy affected by the condition. According to the report, the campaign involves nearly 120 sites and landmarks worldwide.
PANS and PANDAS are associated with the sudden onset or marked worsening of neuropsychiatric symptoms in children. The US National Institute of Mental Health stresses that diagnosis requires a medical professional and that individual symptoms alone do not establish PANS or PANDAS.
The green illumination is a symbolic awareness initiative. It is not medical advice and does not replace a medical consultation.
