Police: Two men detained after reports of violence in Svishtov and Elena

Police in Svishtov and Elena have detained two men following reports of violence against their partners, the Veliko Tarnovo Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry said in its bulletin of 20 October.
According to the statement, a woman from Svishtov sought police assistance at around 20:30 on 19 October. She alleged that her partner had assaulted her. Following police intervention, he was detained for up to 24 hours.
Elena district police are investigating a similar case. Pre-trial proceedings have been opened in both cases. Police provided no further details about the second report.
The information is based on the Interior Ministry's account. Detention does not establish guilt; the investigations are ongoing.
