Svishtov secures over 685,000 euros to renovate three residential neighbourhoods

Svishtov Municipality announced that 685,236 euros have been secured for the second phase of improvements to neighbourhoods 28, 30 and 57. The funding is provided for in the state budget. Construction will begin after the required procedures under the Public Procurement Act and the Spatial Development Act have been completed.

According to information from the municipal press office dated 23 October 2026, the project covers a total of 20,610 square metres of shared spaces between residential buildings. It includes areas around buildings on Exarch Antim I, Exarch Yosif and Petar Angelov streets.

The work will include repairs to local streets, pavements and garage access routes, as well as improvements to park lighting and green spaces. Plans include new benches, gazebos, landscaping and designated areas for recycling containers.

The municipality says that existing ground levels will be adjusted where necessary. If trees have to be removed, three replacement trees will be planted for each one removed. According to the administration, around 1,000 residents have their permanent address registered in the three neighbourhoods.

The announcement concerns secured funding and forthcoming procedures, rather than construction that has already started. No specific date for breaking ground or completing the work has been announced. The project is part of a broader programme to improve residential areas in Svishtov.
