From Monday, 19 October, two-way traffic will share one lane along a 320-metre section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse while drainage equipment is installed. The bridge will not close completely.

The two restriction periods

19 October, 09:00, to 22 October, 17:00 — the right lane closes and vehicles use the left lane.

26 October, 09:00, to 29 October, 17:00 — the left lane closes and traffic switches to the right lane.

Vehicles will be let through alternately in each direction at 20-minute intervals, controlled by traffic marshals. No repair work is planned on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.

For travellers

Allow time for waiting and check announcements before departure. The Road Infrastructure Agency warns that adverse weather may change the schedule. Border Police confirms the restrictions in its bulletin as of 06:00 on 18 October 2026.
