Free Collection of Old Electrical Appliances Takes Place in Elena Today

On October 22, the town of Elena is holding a municipal campaign for free collection of discarded electrical and electronic appliances. A mobile team was scheduled to visit registered addresses from 9 a.m., according to RegNews citing Elena Municipality.

Accepted items include washing machines, refrigerators, cookers, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, televisions, phones, computers, monitors and other unwanted electronics. The aim is proper processing and recycling rather than disposal with mixed household waste.

Under the previously announced arrangements, residents were asked to place appliances outside their buildings by 9 a.m. on October 22. That deadline has passed; residents should contact the municipality about any additional collection and the current route.

For information about arrangements, RegNews names Angelina Yordanova, chief inspector for environment and water at Elena Municipality. Residents should not leave discarded appliances in arbitrary locations and should follow the municipal team instructions.
