Police: 2,256 g of plant material and 30 plants found near Kilifarevo

Police found 30 planted cannabis plants and a sack of plant material that reacted to cannabis in a field test near Kilifarevo, the Veliko Tarnovo Regional Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior said. A 28-year-old man has been charged with possession of 2,256 grams of plant material, and a cash guarantee was set as a measure of restraint, police said.

The case dates to Friday at about 02:00 in the land surrounding Kilifarevo. During a patrol, officers from the Criminal Police Department found the man from Veliko Tarnovo and a sack of plant material. The 30 planted cannabis-family plants were also found nearby and reacted positively to a field drug test.

According to the regional police directorate, the materials were reported to the prosecutor’s office, after which the man was charged. Work on documenting the case is continuing. The charge and the police-reported field-test results do not constitute a conviction.
