The Interior Ministry has resumed accepting applications for expedited driving licence issuance and replacement. In an update dated 7 October, the ministry said the system was operating again.
The service was temporarily suspended on 6 October because of a problem outside Bulgaria in RESPER, the European system for exchanging driving licence data.
The new announcement lifts the previous restriction on the expedited service. The initial notice did not announce any suspension of standard licence issuance or replacement.
Updated on 7 October 2026: official confirmation that the service has resumed has been added. The original publication date and article URL have been retained.
