From 21 to 30 October 2026, inclusive the National Assembly and its parliamentary committees will hold no regular sittings. This follows a decision adopted by MPs on 9 October, rather than a new decision made today.
The break coincides with the final days of the campaign for the presidential and vice-presidential election on 25 October. It is a pause in the normal plenary and committee schedule, but Parliament may still be convened if necessary.
What remains possible
According to information about the adopted decision, extraordinary sittings may still be heldif necessary. The announcement should therefore not be interpreted as a complete suspension of all parliamentary business.
For citizens and organisations following legislation, this means no regular debates or votes are scheduled in the chamber or committees during this period. The latest agenda and any extraordinary sittings should be checked on the National Assembly's official website.
