Svishtov inaugurated the renovated Maria Luiza elderly care home and three new social services on October 15. The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy puts total construction funding under the Recovery and Resilience Plan at €8.3 million.
The new facilities provide residential care for adults with physical disabilities, residential care for adults with intellectual disabilities, and specialist support for people with disabilities and their families. Planned support includes consultations, rehabilitation, training and day care.
The municipality says the new buildings are furnished, but admissions are still ahead. Staff must also be recruited and trained. The opening ceremonies do not mean that every new service is already accepting users.
At Maria Luiza, the existing premises have been renovated and a new three-storey building added. Equipment, furnishings and accessibility have been improved.
