Tsarevets lights up pink in support of women with breast cancer
The fortress joined the initiative on 19 October to support affected families and raise awareness of prevention.

Tsarevets fortress in Veliko Tarnovo was lit pink on the evening of 19 October 2026 in solidarity with women with breast cancer and their families, according to the municipal press office, quoted by BTA.
The campaign highlights prevention and early detection. Parliament and the National Palace of Culture in Sofia were also illuminated pink that evening.
The initiative was launched by parliamentary health committee chair Prof. Kostadin Angelov, with local support from Veliko Tarnovo Municipality and Mayor Daniel Panov.
