EU Council agrees negotiating position on agricultural markets after 2027

On 19 October, the EU Council agreed a partial negotiating position on the common organisation of agricultural markets for the 2028–2034 framework.

The proposal includes a separate protein-crop and oilseed sector, support for producer organisations and continuation of the school fruit, vegetable and milk scheme. It also provides sectoral interventions for beekeeping, fruit and vegetables, and wine under specified conditions.

This is not a final regulation. Negotiations with the European Parliament remain ahead, while financial provisions depend on the overall long-term budget agreement.
