Ombudsman Velislava Delcheva has called for institutional scrutiny of school day-trip prices, her office announced on 19 October.
The move follows parents’ complaints about short trips costing €40–50 without meals or admission fees. Letters went to the education and tourism ministries and the consumer protection and competition commissions.
She seeks views on pricing transparency and proposals to improve affordability. This is a request for scrutiny, not a finding of wrongdoing or an imposed price cap.
