Professor Martin Vechev, founder and scientific director of INSAIT at Sofia University, is among the researchers selected by OpenAI to study and improve a technology for watermarking AI-generated text. The education ministry's press office announced this in information also published by Az-buki on 7 October.

The approach embeds an invisible statistical signal while text is generated. A dedicated detector then checks for that signal, rather than relying solely on the writing style.

According to the announcement, the detector is not yet publicly available. Selected researchers have been given access to study and improve it. No public tool guaranteed to identify every AI-generated text has been announced.
