World Teachers’ Day is observed on 5 October, recognizing teachers’ role and the importance of education for society.
The day is marked in Bulgaria and more than 100 countries. Its official observance in Bulgaria was introduced by a Council of Ministers decision in 2006.
The international day draws attention not only to the profession, but also to the conditions needed for quality education, improvements to school environments, and support for teachers.
