Veliko Tarnovo council meeting on 29 October

Veliko Tarnovo Municipal Council has scheduled a meeting for 29 October 2026, to consider financial, infrastructure and social matters. The agenda published on the council's official website on 23 October includes revisions to municipal revenue and expenditure figures as of 30 September, alongside the draft budget for 2027 and forecasts for local services for 2028–2029.

Winter preparations, projects and transport

Council members are due to receive an update on the municipal administration's readiness for winter 2026/2027 and on the progress of projects funded by the European Union and the state budget. Another agenda item proposes revising the minimum and maximum taxi fares per kilometre. Discussion does not mean that new fares have already been approved.

Proposed changes to social services

The agenda also includes proposals for changes to several social services from 1 November: restructuring residential care facilities, expanding places at a day centre for older people from 35 to 41, and increasing the number of people served by the 'Assistant Support' service from 458 to 469. A further item concerns financial assistance for medical examinations and procedures for residents facing fertility problems.

All the listed decisions are proposals for consideration. Their final status will become clear after the council votes on 29 October. Residents can follow the documents and any resulting decisions through the local council's official portal.
