Lyaskovets expands municipal fleet with tractor for cleaning and winter maintenance

The municipal enterprise for public works, landscaping and cleaning in Lyaskovets is receiving a new tractor with attachments for roadside maintenance and winter clearance, RegNews reported on 22 October.

The machine has equipment to clear road shoulders, roadside vegetation and overhanging branches. For winter, a snowplough and sand spreader will be used for snow clearance and treating road surfaces.

According to information released by the municipality, more than ten machines with various attachments have been purchased over the past three years. The aim is for the municipal enterprise to carry out more maintenance on streets and municipal roads.

The municipality says it now handles waste collection and transport, winter clearance and green-space maintenance with its own resources, reducing its reliance on outside contractors.

The change is part of a policy to build the municipality's own capacity for public services. Its impact on costs and service quality will need to be assessed against results in the coming seasons.
