Svishtov Ninth-Graders Honoured for Spices and Health Project

Ninth-grade students at the Dimitar Hadzhivasilev Vocational School of Commerce in Svishtov received a commendation in the national Health Ambassadors competition. Their project, “Spices – the Small Secrets of Good Health,” was announced by the school through Svishtov Municipality’s press office on 3 November.

A practical school project

Under the guidance of teachers Mariana Lyubenova and Emilia Angelova, the ninth-graders explored culinary herbs and spices and their role in everyday healthy habits. Their project received a commendation. This recognises the pupils’ work; it does not establish that any particular spice can treat or prevent disease.

The awards ceremony took place at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia. According to the school, its students joined participants from across Bulgaria.

More than 11,000 pupils take part nationwide

The Ministry of Health said that around 11,000 pupils participated in the competition’s 18th edition. At the awards ceremony, Health Minister Katya Ivkova congratulated the finalists and emphasised initiatives that turn knowledge into practical everyday habits.

The competition is organised by the Ministry of Health in partnership with public institutions in education, sport and other fields.
