Friends of Animals raises funds for Christmas market

The Friends of Animals foundation in Veliko Tarnovo is appealing for support to prepare for the traditional Christmas market in December in Marno Pole Park. The organisation relies on selling calendars and handmade items produced by volunteers to raise money to care for abandoned animals.

According to information from the foundation cited by RegNews and Borba, 45 donors provided approximately €593 over two weeks. The amount raised does not yet cover the cost of preparations.

Volunteers are already making festive decorations and traditional fortune slips for banitsa pastries, but still need materials and accessories to offer visitors. Christmas calendars represent another substantial expense, estimated by the organisation at €660 excluding VAT.

The Christmas market stall is one way the organisation funds food, veterinary care and other support for animals in need. Its participation in the market will depend on whether it can secure the necessary backing to make the products.

People who want to help can find current information about the initiative on the official Facebook page 'Friends of Animals VT'. We are not republishing payment details that have not been verified independently from third-party reports.
