Svishtov Municipality is planning a major renovation of the Svetlina – 1911 community cultural centre in the village of Morava. Funding secured for the project amounts to €664,679.45, the municipal press office announced on 27 October 2026. The deadline given for completing the works is 31 December 2028.
The funds have been earmarked under the State Budget Act. The project combines structural repairs, energy-saving measures and improvements to building access. The announcement describes planned work, not a renovation that has already been completed.
What will be renovated? Plans include repairing and insulating the roof, insulating and replastering the facade, replacing windows and doors with PVC units, installing an inverter air-conditioning system and a heat-recovery ventilation unit to supply fresh air. LED lighting and an energy-efficient clock on the facade will also be installed.
Another part of the project is to improve accessibility: a single-flight ramp with handrails, anti-slip strips and tactile paving. These changes should make the building more accessible to people with different needs.
Svishtov Municipality says it has gradually renovated community cultural centres in Vardim, Oresh, Tsarevets, Ovcha Mogila and Kozlovets since 2020. Projects have also been prepared for Balgarsko Slivovo and Dragomirovo, but funding is still pending. The Morava community centre is part of this wider programme to maintain local cultural infrastructure.
