Asphalt paving began on Knyaz Cherkazki Street in Svishtov on October 23 following emergency repairs to the water supply network, regional news outlet RegNews reported. The street is in an area affected by landslides, and several sections of its road surface had deteriorated badly.

Over the summer, water utility ViK Yovkovtsi replaced approximately 200 metres of water mains and 25 connections to buildings. The necessary time was allowed for the excavated trenches to settle before resurfacing began. The work is being carried out jointly by the utility and Svishtov Municipality.

The total project cost is about EUR 100,000, according to the reported figures. Paving has started, but there has been no announcement that all work was completed by October 23. The municipality says it intends to continue upgrading water pipes and streets in stages, prioritising the most severely affected sections.

An earlier notice from Svishtov Municipality confirms that the street was closed to traffic during June and early July for water pipe replacement. Drivers should check current municipal notices for any temporary traffic restrictions, as no new traffic arrangements covering the entire paving period have been confirmed.
